Dreams & Art
Mon, Jan 27, 6:30 – 7:30 — Dreams & Art: Part 1
Mon, Feb 3, 6:30 – 8:30 — Dreams & Art: Part 2
Mon, Feb 10, 6:30 – 8:30 — Dreams & Art: Part 3
Longtime readers of my blog will know that dreams play an important role in my art. I have come to believe that symbols from our dreams resonate not only with the individual dreamers; but also with dreamers and artists around the world.
In this three-week workshop, explore the connection between dreams and art for yourself. The first session will be a one-hour discussion about dreams in art history, as well as my own work. I will describe the language of dream as I have come to understand it.
One week later, we will meet for a two-hour studio session. Students will bring their dreams and drawing materials. We will talk about our dreams, work creatively to find meaning in them, and explore them in the form of art.
The third week will be a final studio session. In addition to developing our art, we will discuss how the dreams changed the art, and how the art changed the dreams.
