Self-portrait: print

For most of my social media profiles, I have been using a drawing from a very old blog challenge.  I decided it was time to update the image — just in time for my new logo too!

linocut setupHere is my linocut setup (left).  As you can see, I keep things pretty simple.  I almost always use scrap cardboard instead of an ink tray.

The linocut block I used this time was actually composed of traditional linoleum.  I have written (and videotaped) previously about my preference for Speedy-Carve blocks, which are made of floppy pink rubber.  Linoleum is much harder to cut — but I’m still happy with the way the block turned out.

As you can see below, no two prints come out exactly alike….
