In the weeks since my last post, I have been putting my time and energy into three acrylic paintings. You will see all of those paintings in the days to come.
The first piece I will share is something I made as a Christmas gift for someone very dear to me. The title is Ecce Agnus Dei.
Whistler was on my mind a lot while I was painting. I took a cue from him and tried not to over-render the details. Instead, I focused on color.
I used exactly four tubes of paint for this piece: Titanium White, Cadmium Red Medium, Cadmium Yellow Light and Cobalt Blue. Every color you see on the canvas is some combination of white and those versions of the primaries.
