I created the above logo design for ChiPRC’s summer event calendar, which will be available this Saturday at ChiPRC and various stores around Chicago. Founder John Wawrzaszek will also have copies with him when he attends CAKE this weekend.
Among the events listed in the new calendar are new classes hosted by me. As you will see, I am moving on from my concept-oriented series to production-oriented workshops. I want every student to walk out of class with something they made, and with the knowledge and materials necessary to continue producing.

Registration is now open for the first of these classes, Printmaking with Linocut 101. You will recall my forays into linocut. The workshop is my way of passing along everything I learned through trial and error.
Linocut allows you to make multiple copies of a drawing, even to change up the ink or paper color with each copy. It’s a fun way to make endless prints starting with one drawing. Every little change you make in the printing process will reveal new possibilities that were hidden in your original image.
In the workshop, I will give you a full live demo of the carving and printing techniques. I will then guide you step-by-step through the same process. Everything you need to create a print is provided, including tools you can take home with you.
