In Utero Again
The final Figure Drawing session in our anatomy series took place June 14. My best piece from that night is above (although I obviously completed the tone work on a computer after the session).
It was a great session — we had a full house in attendance, and lots of unique styles to get us inspired. I was so pleased by the turnout that I am announcing the next session date now, well in advance of the class.
Mark your calendars and register early — Figure Drawing: Indoors & Out is coming Sept 27!
Figure Drawing – Outdoors and In
Saturday, September 27. 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Ticket price: $30
There are lots of Figure Drawing sessions where you can draw a model indoors. But how often do you get to draw a model outdoors, one who is interacting with outside objects? Imagine being able to draw a person sitting on a bus bench just for you, or leaning against a light pole. These are the kinds of poses you will see during our first hour, when we take our drawing session outside!
The second hour is back at ChiPRC where we will draw under more traditional conditions. The model will be unclothed, and we will have a series of dynamic poses to work from. Bring your own paper and drawing tools. Make sure you have a smaller pad for the outdoors portion. This is your chance to work with a live model Outdoors and In!
For the class illustration, I used an old and ragged Pentel brush pen. The pen is no longer capable of making a fine point, but I save it for times when I want a loose brush effect. I added the digital tone and coloration on the computer.
