I had more of a Formalist intention with this piece than with the majority of my work. I am interested in the fine line between highly stylized comic book illustrations, such as those created by Bruce Timm or Jack Kirby, and Synthetic Cubism. The similarity in the two disciplines is the reduction of form to shapes.

I’m wondering what the effect would be if I were to further “deform” figures like these? For instance, would the inspiration of comic book art still be apparent, or will it disappear at a certain point? Where does the overlap between the two art forms end?
