Today’s challenge was to draw my family. I didn’t want to do a boring portrait, so I took the opportunity to do something more in line with cubism.
Here is my drawing of my immediate family. I built references into each face that would explain something about that individual.
Beginning at the top and moving clockwise, there is my older sister, me, my mother, my father and my younger sister. With my older sister, I included references to her deep spirituality and religious work. With myself, I included references to painting. With my mother, I included references to her quilting and fabric art. With my father, I included references to his wood-work and affinity for the outdoors. With my younger sister, I included references to her strong math skills.
We’re all very different, but between us, we make one fully functioning person. I call that person Compositor.
